There’s discussion that former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney will run for Orrin Hatch’s open Senate seat in the midterm elections, and if the rhetoric of recent campaigns persists, his health could become a talking point. CNN‘s Jake Tapper and the Salt Lake Tribune reported that Romney was successfully treated for prostate cancer in summer 2017.

Prostate cancer affects one in seven men, according to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. It tends to advance slowly, and if treatment happens early, the chance for the patient to become cancer-free is high.
